4/18/09 Dane's 7th Bday!

It's hard to believe my little man is 7 years old! 7 just seems like that magickal number that takes a child from kindergartener to "Big boy".

4/17/09 MSDPT art show

Today was the annual Perry Township art exhibit at Perry Meridian. Nadine and Dane both had artwork on display this year. Dane made a Dinosaur landscape and Nadine painted a canvas.

I love having kids who enjoy being creative as much as I do!

4/16/09 Andrew's 1st meet!

Today was Andrew's very 1st Track & Field meet. He did a great job! On the 1600 he was tripped and ended up in a summersault! He jumped back up, continued the run and finished!

He ran the 1600 (not sure of his time) and ran the 2400 in 9:45.

4/12/09 happy Spring!

We went to Easter brunch w/Grammy & Grampy, teta Rose & U Bob today. It's our last year, so I was happy to know that this would be our last! We had an egg hunt in the back yard when we got home, and just enjoyed the evening with the kids!

Pre-Birthday celebrations!

So, I decided to take some ME time this afternoon. My Mamma gave me $50 and said that she wanted to be sure that I spent it on me, and not on kids meds, bills, etc.

So, I was working at the Mall and decided to peruse the overpriced stores that sell clothing I couldn't squeeze my big butt into 6 months ago.

I bought me some new pants and a much needed cardigan at Lerner New York, and got a free braclet with apparel purchase to boot!

I then treated myself to lunch at Johnny Rockets. Chili Cheese fries and a Coke really make me smile =)

I stopped by Bella Salon to see Ashley and make an appt. to get my catapillars waxed off of my forehead, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that her appt was a no show, so she waxed me on the spot!

It's such a nice treat to be able to spend an afternoon focusing on just me, and not worrying about what I spend or how I spend it. I had $50, now it's gone...and I have a cute new outfit that fits me to wear to the MNO tomorrow night, plus my brows look lovely and most importantly I feel happy, relaxed, and loved.

Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover day 1

I've been talking about starting the Dave Ramsey TMM for about a year now. I have made futile attempts to borrow the book from other Moms. I wasn't really as motivated as I am today. Yesterday my DS's Meds were changed, and that added $121 to our monthly budget.

So, I signed up for the 7 day free trial, and have completed the baby steps up to savings. We need $700 to move onto the next step.

I plan to sell off my Early American glassware collection to obtain some of that $700, so we can move on.

I wish I had started this at the new year, like I had planned, because we could have had $1000 in savings, and in fact we DID, but have since spent it, and replenished it a few times. But, I can wish in one hand, and crap in the other and see which one gets filled first, right?

We have to learn to leave the savings alone! We don't pull it willy nilly, but we spend that way sometimes, which causes a need to pull savings for other needs.

What to do for my birthday...

My birthday is coming up in just a few days. I've received a card from my dear friend Angie, my Momma, and my Grandma. I'm not really sure what I want to do with myself on my birthday?!?

I thought about running through the streets yelling "It's my birthday, It's my birthday", but it seemed a little predictable for me.

Maybe I'll just have a cupcake. Chocolate please, with Cool Whip and sprinkles on top, because I prefer oil over cream =)

4/5/09 It's camping time!

We put our trailer on a lot in Jamilou Shady Acres campgrounds. Our site backs up to the Hoosier National forest. It's a beautiful view and the kids have acres and acres of tick filled woods to roam in! We took a hike in the woods, and enjoyed some time around the fire.
